Cordelia Wins! Cordelia Wins!

Pin It Now!

Well, the contest/vote has come to a close and the choice was decisive to say the least. The Cordelia design won by a margin of 75 to 19. I was very pleased with getting 94 votes. That's pretty good participation for this small outfit.

The winner of the free t-shirt is Mark Kudreikis of St. Catherines, ON. Congrats!

The t-shirt can be pre-ordered HERE.

Notes: This is a pre-order period beginning 2013/01/30 and lasting about 2 weeks. Depending on demand is how I will place the order and whether or not there will only be this initial run sold. I recommend ordering during this period to ensure you get a shirt. These t-shirts are pre-shrunk.

From the end of the pre-order to the time I place & receive the stock can take 2-3 weeks and then there is the shipping period. I always keep everyone aware of the status of their orders.

If your size is not listed as an option, contact me through this website, Facebook or Twitter and we will work something out. This is something I will need to know before placing my initial order as I can't order one-off shirts.

Cheers,
Darren

HipTour Lot Style T-Shirt Release

Pin It Now!

Hey Folks,

We've come up with a couple more fun designs that we thought you'd enjoy. Being as that we live in a democracy we are going to let the people decide which one gets released first. The two designs that are under consideration are posted below.

The first option is a take on the old "Keep Calm And Carry On" British propaganda poster that the government had made in 1939 at the onset of WWII. It was designed to help the public cope while dealing with the possibility of a Nazi invasion. This design was never seen by the public during this time however and its copyright is now in the public domain which is why it can be seen all over the place these days in its original form and in variations like the one below.

The second is the name "Cordelia" written in a font that is probably familiar to most.

The voting will take place on our Facebook page and will take place over a 7 day period after which, one shirt will go into pre-order. Everyone who votes, shares and likes on Facebook will be entered into a draw to win a free t-shirt.

Voting will begin on 2013/01/23.

Please feel free to leave a comment below or on FB. All feedback is appreciated.

Bill Barilko's Sister - Anne Klisanich

Pin It Now!

Anne Klisanich, the sister of Bill Barilko passed away last week. The National Post has run a great story on her with lots of Tragically Hip stuff sprinkled in.

It is one of those stories sons tell about their mothers because it makes them smile every time they do, because the image of Anne Klisanich, a 70-ish senior, with grey hair and a warm and welcoming manner, putting on her coat and heading out the door, determined to meet a “Rock ’n’ Roll” band named The Tragically Hip, is deliciously absurd.
Anne Klisanich didn’t have a ticket to the show at a nearby arena, and she didn’t really have a clue who The Tragically Hip were. All she knew, because someone had told her, was that they had written a song about her older brother, Billie Barilko, though the Hip referred to him as “Bill” in the hockey anthem Fifty Mission Cap, a tune about the Toronto Maple Leafs legend scoring the Stanley Cup winning goal and then disappearing into the Northern Ontario bush while on a fishing trip.
“My mother told security she was Bill Barilko’s sister and that she wanted to meet the band and the security guard just laughed at her,” says her youngest son, Barry Klisanich. “He said, ‘Sure lady, right.’
“So my mother pulled out her birth certificate and showed it to the security guard and he took it inside and came back out and said, ‘The band would love to meet with you.’ ”
